Tove de Fries- fiddle and Malene - piano.
Tove and Malene have been an active part of the Danish Folk Music scene for many years. They formed the duo "de Fries & D. Beck, through a love and respect for the music and dance traditions of Denmark.
Balance is their debut-CD and includes traditional melodies from the various regions of Denmark, with several selections from the repertoire of Niels de Fries (Tove's father) from western Jutland.
Tove also performs in the group "Baltinget". Malene performs in the group "Instinkt" - both popular groups in Denmark that represent more contemporary traditions.
Balance is a snapshot of the evolving repertoire and compelling musicianship of this exciting duo.
