SULA BASANA is the Latin name for the albatross of the North. The gannet alights on northern skerries by Atlantic coasts, but only to breed.
From rocky ledges along the coasts of Scotland, the Faroes, Lofoten, Ireland and the Shetlands.
Sula wheels above the waves
Rod Sinclair (SCO) sings and plays guitar and 5-string banjo. Moving with the folk music revival from Scotland to Europe. Rod has been played and sung from Greenland the Mediterranean, from Russia to the US Great Lakes. A writer, broadcaster and teacher.
Eskil Romme (DK) plays robust, fluent accordion, saxophone and pipes. Inspired by traditional dance musicians and contemporary folk players on both sides of the North Sea. Eskil has travelled widely with Spælimenninir, Suleskær and Sula.
Erling Olsen (DK) a fiddler in the traditional Nordic style. His style is light yet vigourous, beautifully matched to both songs and accordion music. Erling has played throughout Scandinavia, USA, Canada and Great Britain with Spælimenninir, Suleskær and SULA
