Spælimenninir formed in 1974 in Tórshavn, Faroe Island plays traditional and contemporary folk music from Scandinavia. Their music reflects its members varied backgrounds, Faroese, Swedish, Scottish, American and Danish. The group has a playing style all its own - a blend of the various Scandinavian countries with a bit of Shetland and New England thrown in.
